2. SHAHEEQA ( Whooping cough)
This is an infectious disease affecting mostly children.
The child coughs continuously with whoop, the face becomes red and
often vomiting follows. Such attacks occur periodically or at frequent
intervals.

Administration : Mix 1 g. of the powder with 6 g.

: Put the flowers in an earthen pot. Cover the pot with
a lid and seal the mouth by pasting moist chikni mitti (clay)
around it. When dry, put in a mild fire of 15-20 kilo cowdung
cakes. When cold, break open the cup, remove the burnt flowers,
grind and sieve.
Administration : Mix 1 to 2 g. of this powder with Honey
and use as linctus (Chatni) three to four times a day.

Instructions : Hot spices Q to be avoided. Physical
strain and mental excitement should also be avoided.
Note : A physician should be consulted for regular
treatment.
4. ZEEQ-UN-NAFAS (Asthma)
Asthma occurs in paroxysmal attacks of difficult breathing.
The patient sits forward with the head resting on hands with elbows
on the knees. The face is pale. There is wheezing sound in respiration
with unproductive cough. After continuous cough the patient spits
a small quantity of phlegm and gets some relief.
Prescription No. 1
Adrak juice
Administration : Take a tea-spoonful (about 5 ml.) of lukewarm Adrak
juice at bed time.
Prescription No. 2
Gul - e - Madar flower
240 g.
Salt
60 g.
Method of preparation : Put the above drugs in an earthen
pot. Cover it with a lid, seal the mouth by pasting moist chikni
mitti (clay) around the pot. When dry, put the pot in mild fire
of 15-20 kg. cowdung cakes for three hours. When cold, break open
the pot, remove the burnt ingredients and powder it finely.
Administration : Mix 125 mg. of this powder with 6 g. of
Honey and take it twice daily.

Gul - e - Madar flower

Namak Lahor
3 g.
Method of preparation : Grind the above ingredients, moisten with
a little water and make Q Gram size pills.
Administration : 2 pills as a lozenge three to four times a day.

Tender shoot of Neem 12g.
Method of preparation : Put in an earthen pot, add 120 ml.
of water, boil on medium fire and strain.
Administration : Take at bed time.

Zarawand Q.S
Method of preparation : Powder the durg, add little water
and make a cake of 6 g. and dry.
Administration
: Keep in a pipe or hukka and smoke.

Dhatura seeds (Black vairety)
1 g.
Administration : Keep on fire and inhale the smoke.
Prepared Medicines :
Any of the following may be taken:
1. Lauq-Katan
10 g. at bed time.
2. Lauq-Zeequn Nafas
10 g. at bed time.
3. Lauq Sipistan Khayarshamberi
10 g. at bed time.
4. Sharbat Zoofa
25 ml. twice a day.
Instructions : Exposure to cold should be avoided.
Cold and sour food should also be avoided.
Note : A physician may be consulted for
regular treatment.
5. WAJ-E-AZLAT-E-SADR
(Pain in the chest muscles)
It is due to cold . The following prescriptions are usrful.
Prescription No. 1
Qarn-ul-Aiyal (Stag horn) A small
piece.
Method of preparation : Rub the above with water on a stone.
Administration
: Take 125 mg. two to three times a day.

Loban
Mom Q 1g. each
Method of preparation : Heat the above drugs till they are
soft and make Moong (green gram ) size pills.
Administration : 1 pill in the morning with lukewarm water.

Method of preparation : Powder the above drugs separately
and mix.

Method of preparation : Fry the first three drugs in oil
till they turn dark brown and strain.
Administration : Apply on the chest.
Note : Make the powder of the first three drugs
and take 1/2 g. to 1 g. of the powder with water twice daily.
Prepared Medicines :
Any of the following may be used:
1. Habb-e-Azaraqi
1 pill at bed time (orally).
2. Majoon Jograj Gugal
6 g. at bed time ( orally).
3 Qairuti Arad Karasna
Apply on the chest.
4. Araq-e-Ajeeb mixed
5 drops of Araq-e-Ajeeb
mixed.
with Alsi part.
with 6 ml. of Alsi oil to be applied on the
affected part.
5. Roghan Babuna
6 ml. to be applied on the affected part.
Instructions : Exposure to cold should be avoided.
Note : A physician must be consulted
in case the pain is severe.
6. DABBA-E-ATFAL
(Broncho-pneumonia in the children)
The child's breathing is rapid and there is a hollow formation
beneath the ribs while breathing. Cough high fever and pain are
also present. Face becomes red and nostrils dialate while breathing.
The child is restless.

Method of preparation : Dissolve in mother's milk or cow
milk.

: 1 Administer to the child as such.

a day.

1 pill twice daily
2. Habb-e-Usara Revand
1 pill twice daily.
3. Sharbat Sadar
6 ml. twice daily
4. Qairuti-Arad-e-Karsna
Apply on the chest
Instructions : Exposure to cold should be avoided.
Patient should be given liquied diet.
Note : A physician may be consulted
for regular treatment.
7. IKHTELAJ-E-QALB (Heart Palpitation)

Method of preparation : Soak Rehan seeds in rose water for about
one hour and add sugar.

(Faintness)
It is due to general debility, shock, anger, hysteria,
weakness of heart and other nervous diseases. Patient becomes
faint, his face is pale, extremeties are cold pulse is feeble.

Lahsan or Heeng.
