DV-1 Diversity Program Lottery

55,000 visas are available every year for states that have a low admission rate. These are states that have less than 1/6 of all the visas that are issued in the previous five years. The applicant for the lottery must have the equivalent of a high school diploma and at least two years work experience in an occupation requiring at least 2 years of training or experience.
